William Allenby

His career has taken him around the world singing as far afield as Vietnam and Bermuda as well as closer to home in Europe.

William was a member of Glyndebourne Opera from 1993-97 and he has worked regularly at English National Opera since 1999 as well as with Opera Holland Park, Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House, Opera Ireland, Scottish Opera, the D'Oyly Carte and Iford Festival Opera.

Current/Future plans include:

Dr Wilhelm Reischmann (role debut) in Henze's Elegy for Young Lovers in the latest ENO/Young Vic collaboration, directed by Fiona Shaw and conducted by Stefan Blunier.

Sacristan in Tosca (scheduled performances 3rd and 7th July), with English National Opera, directed by Catherine Malfitano and conducted by Edward Gardner.

Stage Technician The Makropulos Case, with English National Opera, directed by Christopher Alden and conducted by Sir Richard Armstrong.

Alcade/Surgeon (role debut) in Forza Del Destino in Martin Duncan's new production for Opera Holland Park and conducted by Stuart Stratford.

Pish Tush (role debut) in The Mikado in Jonathan Miller's acclaimed production at English National Opera.

Ms Shaw has the singers act so well you could almost think they were performing in a straight play. Mittenhofer's put upon doctor was the excellent William Robert Allenby.
